All participants must bring a working flashlight (Check your batteries). The Coast Guard regulations require a
360 degree white light be shown. Cylume or glowsticks cannot be substituted although we recommend
something like them be used so we can keep track of all our paddlers and provide a warning to powerboats .
Those providing their own vessels must also have an approved PFD and whistle. The latter items are
provided with rentals, but you must bring your own light! PFD's must be worn at all times. Aardvark's Florida
Kayak Company assumes no liability for those bringing their own vessels. Launch time is 5:30 pm at Hunters
Spring Park.
If you are renting a kayak, you must come to the shop no later than 5:00 pm to sign the waiver.
Please also bring a snack dish of some sort to compliment Aardavark's goodies. We'll start serving the eats at
4:00 pm. Cakes, and cookies area always a hit.
A word about night etiquette and lights... Please be considerate of other boaters and shoreline
property owners. Bright lights can disrupt night vision and disturb local residents. Do not shine your
light directly at another boat or into any of the many shoreline homes that line the bay. Be a
considerate kayaker and educated boater!

Aardvark's Florida Kayak Company continues our "Paddle with a Purpose" sunset social and kayak cruises.
On select Wednesday or Thursday evenings , we invite all paddlers to join us for an open house potluck social at our shop (free food!) after which we will depart from Hunters Spring for a Sunset paddle on Kings Bay.
The "Purpose" will be to raise a few bucks for some causes which are near and dear to us. The paddles are free to those with their own canoes/kayaks but we would ask that you donate whatever you wish to the cause of the month. We suggest a minimum of $10. Rental kayaks are available for $20 per person and Aardvark's will donate 25% of the rental fee to the cause.
March 19th will be the next event.

The main purpose of these paddles is to get together with other kayakers for a few hours on the water and to raise a few dollars for some worthy causes. This may be a surprise to some, but we don't always see the full moon. The moon rises at different time throughout the year and we are often back in before the moon makes it high enough to see. We almost always catch the sunset. Click the following link to check out moonrise times for Crystal River. Moonrise Predictions
