| After your manatee encounter Aardvark's Florida Kayak Company has several options that we are pleased to offer exclusively to patrons of Manatee Safari. Reservations required at time of Safari booking. $45 per person minimum 2 maximum 12 Choice of options may be limited by availability. Reservations must be made through the form on this site at least one week prior to the event. |
Option #1 TRAIL WALK THROUGH CHURCH HOUSE HAMMOCK
Our staff biologist will escort you to the trailhead at the state preserve's Church House Hammock where we explore this old
growth hardwood hammock via a liesurely afternoon walk. We'll see century old oaks, pines and magnolias along with
orchids and spanish moss. We'll likely encounter a gopher tortoise or three as well as hawks, songbirds, and pileated
woodpeckers. (2 hrs)

Our interpreter will escort you to the Crystal River Archaeological State Park, a sacred ceremonial site to the pre-columbian
mound builders of this area. Here we will explore the grounds and museum including the burial, cermonial, and midden
mounds. (2 hrs)
Option #3 INTRODUCTORY KAYAK LESSON
For those of you who haven't had enough of the water, we offer a beginners kayak paddle After a hands on introduction to
sea kayaking, we practice a little in the clear spring waters of Hunter Spring run and then venture out into the Bay for a short,
easy paddle. (2hrs)
